Darren Thomson became President & CEO of Manulife (Singapore) Pte Ltd in April 2006. As CEO of Manulife Asset Management Singapore, which was established in June 2007, Darren manages the life fund assets and developing in-house unit trusts. Under his leadership, Private Financial Services has been set up catering for the high net worth market and under his direction all the business units have seen significant growth. Darren has 23 years of extensive experience in the financial services industry, working in United Kingdom and Asia. After having worked 16 years in tied agency distribution in UK, Darren came to Asia with another international insurer in October 2000. Darren first joined Manulife Financial in Hong Kong in 2004 as Vice President, Head of Alternative Distribution, Asia and now sits on the LIMRA Regional Executive Committee and is Deputy President of the Life Insurance Association of Singapore, as well as Director of Singapore Colleague of Insurance Limited.
